Marketing Director-Advertising

Marketing Director with mass media advertising experience. In this key role, you will help develop a strategy and drive the advertising creative and media planning processes that support multi-million dollar ad concepts that are critical to the business. This position directs and oversees the company’s advertising plans, objectives and initiatives and reviews changes to the marketplace and industry and adjusts the plan accordingly. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. This position requires a strategic thinker with strong analytical skills who sees the big picture but is also willing to execute on new and existing concepts while managing cross-functional relationships internally and with vendors/agencies. Leads and directs marketing staff with a focus on the Advertising function. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Will report to the Vice President of Marketing.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Develop effective advertising concepts that execute specific marketing programs across various advertising medium
• Planning and managing program budgets
• Plan and manage budgets for TV, Print, Digital and Radio via external and internal agencies
• Direct the external and internal agencies/vendors involved in the execution of the brand communications campaign and brand-related initiatives
• Lead the creation of well articulated creative briefs, messaging and creative architecture
• Driving creative & messaging direction
• Tracking revenue and analyzing program results (ROI)
• Making go-forward recommendations
• Sharing learning with the organization; presentation to key members of Leadership team
• Work with market research department to conduct studies and learning summaries
• Conduct and analyze ongoing competitive spend analysis, report findings
• Develop strong relationships with cross-functional teams and external media partners
• Communicate Brand advertising concepts to the Regional Marketing Management and the business lines and secure buy-in
• Establish close working relationships with the Regional Marketing teams of the business lines/functional divisions to ensure that regional branding and media plans are aligned to their business strategy and requirements
• Coordinate the media plan and branding opportunities for corporate sponsorships as required
• Knowledge of target consumer behaviors and the key communication drivers that affect purchase behavior
• Solid understanding of the competitive landscape
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Hire, develop and lead marketing department effectively
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Deep knowledge and passion for golf/sports a must
• Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Advertising or Business
• 7-10 years business experience as a Marketing Manager/Leader and at least 3 years experience as an Communications/Advertising manager in a corporate or agency setting (MUST have experience working with agencies and analyzing media plans)
• Strong creative problem-solving and analytical skills
• Proven leader
• Excellent verbal, written, visual/presentation and interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to effectively present plans, strategies, and results to Executive level
• Proven track record of success leading cross-functional teams
• Strong results orientation and decision making skills: take-charge attitude and champion of innovative ideas
• Efficient personal organizational skills
• Strong personal computer skills(MS Office, Adobe programs, Photoshop)
• Ability to work effectively in a corporate environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Sound knowledge of the brand communications environment and understanding of corporate branding are essential
• Occasional domestic/international travel
• Team player
